I loved learning about everything American Girl and searched for message boards, but never found anything. I loved Curt's site, but didn't know out this board. One day on Wikipedia I looked up American Girl. There was a quote that linked to this site. I was so happy I found it!!

I think I found the board through a message someone left on Curt's site. Maybe it was Ann, not sure now. We had just gotten into AG a couple of months before and these ladies gave me the encouragement I needed to get a Samantha for my birthday...and they haven't stopped encouraging me since! I found the board back in 2002 when I first heard about AG from a lady at work (cathy66). I joined Ann's site first and then saw that there was a message board. I lurked at first just reading the posts. Then Kit arrived and I had a TON of questions. The rest as they say is history.
I am surprised how many true friends I made on the board and am lucky enough to have meet a bunch of board members this year!

I bought something off ebay in the fall of 2002. The seller was very friendly and we were emailing back and forth, and I mentioned that I wished so much that there was a place for people to join together and tell Pleasant Company how upset they were about the Felicity retirements and about being lied to about the retirements. I told her that I was thinking about starting some kind of list or website or letter-writing campaign. Then she told me that someone had already started such a thing, and referred me to SOAGC. I'm sorry that I forgot who it was who pointed me here. Are you still here? I think that her ebay name or board name was "sueyonkers".

I was one of the very first members here! Ann contacted me even before she started her Society of American Girls Collectors site because I had mentioned being a fan on my website. I had no idea that there were other 20-somethings who still loved their childhood AGs the way I do- it's such a relief to know!

I'm on another board with Martina's mom and she was talking about AG stuff a lot. She got me interested and next thing I knew, I was ordering my girls Samantha and Felicity. Someone at that board mentioned the Just Magic site and I found this site from there. Once I got here, it was just a small hop over to ordering a doll for myself!

I found this board by doing a google search about Felicity's Retired Items. I was collecting for a few years and then Felicity's items starting appearing on e-Bay for huge sums of money. I was trying to figure out what was going on.

I think I found out about it through Curt's guestbook.

I had just bought DD her twins in November of 2004 (she already had Ruthie and Kit) and I was wanting Josefina really bad for myself. I did a search for "American girl doll collectors" and found the main page for the Society of AG Fans website which led me to the board.

I started it as part of the Society of American Girl Collectors. However, when I became pregnant in 2004, I knew I would not have the time to keep it up anymore and so I disconnected it from the Society (which I still maintain...just barely!) and gave over the ownership to one of the moderators. Lately I have been so busy with volunteer work and the kiddo that I have barely even been able to visit!
